About the team – Teams across the Architecture, Infrastructure & Networking Branch collaborate closely, as their work is interconnected. Effective communication and alignment are essential for a well-functioning IT ecosystem that enables effective sustainment across the organisation.

The architecture team focuses on designing and planning the overall structure of ASC’s IT systems. Their responsibilities include:

  • System Design: Creating blueprints for software, hardware, and network components.
  • Scalability and Performance: Ensuring systems can handle growth and high loads.
  • Integration: Coordinating different systems to work seamlessly together.
  • Security: Implementing security measures across the architecture.
  • Alignment with Business Goals: Ensuring technical decisions align with business objectives.
  • Technology Evaluation: Assessing new technologies and their suitability.
  • Cloud Strategy: Defining how cloud services fit into the overall architecture.

About the role – The Senior Systems & Cloud Engineer is responsible for providing expert technical leadership and advocacy for innovative solutions that support the efficient and effective delivery of ASC technology objectives. You will be responsible for leading and managing technical delivery aspects of technology-based projects to ensure technology designs and decisions deliver sustainable. Efficient, secure and integrated solutions. Key duties of the role include:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining ASC’s infrastructure focusing on cloud-based solutions. 
  • Configuring and managing cloud services, optimising system performance, and ensuring security and troubleshooting issues. 
  • Providing technical advice and support to technology-based projects, including feasibility assessment and risk analysis which aligns with strategic objectives.
  • Integrate enterprise architecture and information security architectures into project solutions.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and project teams to understand needs and requirements. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of sustainable systems and cloud plans and strategies to deliver outcomes.

About you – Our ideal candidate will have substantial technical leadership and experience with a structured and methodical approach with an ability to focus on achieving delivery of ASC’s technology objectives. The successful candidate will have:

  • Substantial technology experience and skill across a broad range of digital enterprise platforms including: 
    • Azure, O365, ADFS, Azure AD and modern authentication (SAML, OIDC);
    • SQL and PowerShell scripting, SCCM packaging, server/application patching and VMWare Management;
    • Deploying and managing digital certificates and certificate authorities; 
    • Web application deployment and debugging; 
    • Network Management experience with Fortinet firewalls, Zscaler, and Aruba networking;
    • Application integration leveraging APIs and automation frameworks;
    • Application Whitelisting and Vulnerability Management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in system administration, networking and scripting languages (Python or PowerShell). 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cyber Security principles.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a Technology field.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to negotiate solutions and design services delivery processes.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate with influence when working with non-technical stakeholders and document process and procedures.
