At the QAS we support 500+ pre-elite and elite athletes from talented juniors through to Olympic, Paralympic and World Championships medallists to win on the world stage. We support both in-house squad programs, partnership programs with National Sporting Organisations and/or scholarships for individuals who are on medal winning trajectories for international success.

We have a bold 2032 High Performance Strategy to propel us forward to create more medal winning moments by Queensland athletes, to ultimately inspire the state and the nation.

The High Performance Operations Coordinator is responsible for providing quality operational support to the High Performance Programs Team and Sport Partners.

In this role you will:

  • Provide professional and quality advice, and operational support services to High Performance Managers, High Performance Operation Leads, Performance Support Operations team, coaches, athletes, and sporting partners to ensure efficient organisation of travel requirements, equipment purchases, coordinating the procurement of low-value assets, monitoring athlete agreement acceptance and compliance and co-ordinating annual athlete medical screenings.
  • Assist the High Performance Operations Lead, High Performance Managers and Sports with the coordination and development of the annual and monthly budgeting processes as well as cashflow forecasting activities for coaches or program leads.
  • Proactively contribute to maintaining the sport lists within Smartabase Athlete Monitoring System (AMS), ensuring that data integrity is accurate and kept up to date to meet business requirements.
  • Together with the High Performance Operations Lead and team of High Performance Managers establish and maintain effective and structured reporting systems and processes to ensure consistency and efficiency across the organisation.
  • In conjunction with the High Performance Managers, attend meetings and develop strong relationships with sports and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and to effectively address issues to contribute to the effective and efficient operations of each of the high performance program.
  • Operationalising high performance program projects and initiatives, including effectively planning and monitoring projects such as; athlete induction, athlete tracker meetings sport program meetings. Ensuring information is high standard, timely and informative.
  • Undertake the monthly reconciliation of financial and corporate card accounts, reviewing and analysing the data to ensure all balances/transactions are accounted for correctly in accordance with reporting requirements.
  • Assist in tracking the compliance and reporting responsibilities contained within sport partnership agreements and funding deeds. Maintain stock control of uniforms and / or consumables for the High Performance Team.
  • Liaise with a broad range of internal stakeholders and external service providers, co-ordinating priorities within tight timeframes, resolving issues and providing services, ensuring cost-effective outcomes are achieved.
  • Provide a safe, and safe environment for QAS supported athletes and any other children and young people engaged with the QAS, free from physical, sexual and emotional abuse or neglect.
  • As a member of the QAS team, take shared accountability for setting a high performance culture by owning and fostering our values and behaviours throughout our organisation.
