About the Role: 

The Venue Responder role (also known as a Duty Manager) is responsible for providing operational oversight and support for all activities and events occurring at our Knox, Albert Park and Parkville venues. They are the top point of escalation for all incidents and ensure the safety of both patrons and staff within the venue

Key responsibilities include but limited to:

  • Incident response and coordination
  • Proactive hazard identification and mitigation
  • Incident database management
  • Accurate report writing and initial investigation
  • Maintaining compliance records
  • Operating and monitoring security and access control systems
  • Facility troubleshooting
  • Contractor supervision

It is the Venue Responder's responsibility to understand all activities and movement within the venue during its operating hours. They bring all departments together and ensure the operational staff are aware of important impacts or activities to the venue and how that may access, events, bookings, departments, staff and tenants. 

About you: 

To be successful in the role, you will demonstrate the following:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet when things do not go to plan
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Effective leadership skills that aid in your ability to communicate well, motivate staff, and provide or receive feedback
  • The ability to confidently operate both autonomously and as a part of team
  • Attention to detail and refined time management skills
  • Experience in controlling emergency response situations within a multi-faceted venue
  • Quick learner, with the ability to understand and interpret new policies and procedures
  • Experience in a Supervisor or Management position is a must
  • You must hold current CPR, First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation qualifications. You will also need be accredited as a Pool Lifeguard
