The primary purpose of the Venue Supervisor is to support the delivery of events and bookings at Home of the Matildas (HOTM). The Venue Supervisor will be responsible for assisting on the day aspects of the facility and event bookings, primarily setting up the event and booking on the day, along with being the responsible person and forward-facing key hirer contact during the event. This is a casual role, with shifts rostered across Monday to Sunday, predominantly evenings based and weekend shift requirements.

Who we are:

Football Victoria (FV) is the governing body for football in Victoria. We are recognised as the organisation responsible for the administration, promotion and delivery of football and futsal (indoor football) in the state by both the State and Federal Governments, as well as Football Australia (FA).

Our funding derives from membership and club affiliation fees, government grants and corporate sponsorship. Through the national body's affiliation with FIFA (Federation of International Football Associations), we look after everything football in Victoria including semi-professional ranks, amateurs, youth, referees, coaches, officials and volunteers. FV are committed to providing a quality service to the broad community with integrity and professional excellence.

The role: 

Duties and responsibilities of the role may vary with each event; however, main tasks will include:

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for all enquiries on event day from hirers; managing requests, issue resolution, stakeholder engagement, safety adherence and contractor management
  • Assisting with venue setup
  • Provide quality and timely advice in accordance with adopted policies and criteria
  • Provide support, advice and information to support community organisations to develop and coordinate programs, activities and events using the facility
  • Liaise with service providers pre, during and post event to ensure facility is delivered in the best possible condition for the hirer’s needs
  • Conduct training for hirers of any self-managed aspects of the site (eg scoreboard, AV, lighting)
  • Appropriately respond to emergency situations to ensure the best possible outcome
  • Proactively identify, report and mitigate OH&S issues to facilitate a safe and enjoyable facility for all users

To be a good fit for this role you have:

  • Availability to work flexible hours across weekends, evenings and weekdays as required
  • Good communication skills, including verbal, written, listening, interpreting and nonverbal skills
  • Ability to problem solve to accommodate and adapt to change as required
  • Good organisation and time management skills including ability to prioritise
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and work well under pressure
  • Ability to produce accurate work with sound attention to detail
  • A positive, flexible and proactive attitude to work. With a willingness to learn
  • Hold, or be willing to undertake and pass, a Victorian Working With Children Check; AND
  • Hold, or be willing to undertake and pass, a certificate in Provide First Aid and Provide CPR
