Description

It's an exciting time for tennis in Australia and we have ambitious plans to continue to grow the game from grassroots through to high performance. We are transforming how we deliver tennis, with the aim of making it more accessible, to more people, more often. To help us achieve our plans, we are looking for a Facilities and Planning Lead to join our Tennis New South Wales team.

The Facilities and Planning Lead will play a senior role within the team, leading key projects and supporting the wider Tennis Development Team in the areas such as network planning, sports infrastructure, venue sustainability and performance, grants and funding, facility and venue management, sports development and capability building and government engagement.

About the role

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate NSW infrastructure projects with the Infrastructure and Planning Manager and engage stakeholders for successful outcomes
  • Offer technical and development advice on NSW infrastructure projects
  • Provide and promote funding opportunities to NSW venues as they relate to infrastructure development, ensuring the team is kept informed
  • Manage the Tennis NSW Facility Enhancement Fund program and other tennis-led funding processes
  • Develop project and grant capabilities for internal and external stakeholders, including regional teams and local clubs and government
  • Use data insights to drive facility development, venue sustainability, and participation outcomes

About you

What you will bring to the role:

  • High level of organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong stakeholder engagement capabilities with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interest in sport, preferably with a background or knowledge of Tennis
  • Local Government and Sport Sector knowledge is highly desirable
  • Tertiary qualifications in Recreation Planning, Sports Administration, or a related field, with a strong interest in advancing a career in Recreation Planning and Infrastructure Development within the sports and recreation sector
  • Demonstrated capability or eagerness to develop skills in data analysis and management, including experience with databases, analytical tools, infographics, and GIS mapping
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
