The Eltham Wildcats Basketball Club (EWBC) is looking for suitably experienced and motivated candidates to take on the role of Basketball Development Officer. The EWBC is one of the largest junior sporting clubs in Australia with approximately 5,000 active players across all streams. The Wildcats operate under a unique structure, functioning both as an overarching Association as well as a domestic club in the largest junior domestic competition in Australia - the EDJBA. Including this position the EWBC office operates with 11 employees, 4 of which are full-time, with others ranging from 8 - 32 hours weekly. Outside of this the club has a variety of casual, honorarium and volunteer positions which contribute heavily to day-to-day operations.
The Basketball Development Officer is responsible for the administration and quality of junior basketball development programs within the club structure. The applicant must have basketball experience and an understanding of whats requried to inspire participation and develop talent within players aged 3 - 18 years old. The Position will function as the central point for basketball development within the office, while working in conjuction with the other appointed basketball development positions including the Director of Coaching, Championship Co-ordinator and others
The two Lead coaches for Wildcat beginner programs will report to this position as will the 3 domestic lead coaches. The Basketball Development Officer reports directly to the EWBC Operations Manager.
Skills:
- Basketball coaching experience
- Ability to administrate Basketball Programs through PlayHQ and other tools

- Plan and coordinate School Holiday Programs
- Administer beginner programs while managing Lead Coaches

- Co-ordination of indivual/small group training sessions
- Work alongside Championship Coaching Structure on basketball development strategy
Work Hours
24 hours a week, with an expectation of 20 hours in office and 4 on-court actively coaching or monitoring programs.
