A hands-on HR Business Partner role, developing a new HR framework and supporting the employees of two Olympic sports.

About Baseball Australia

Baseball Australia (BA) is the national governing body for baseball in Australia.

Baseball is a top 10 popular participation sport globally and included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

BA is committed to raising the profile of baseball, increasing participation, delivering amazing experiences for the baseball community and achieving international success.

There are approximately 600 clubs providing baseball to over 30,000 registered baseball players in Australia. BA employs 12 full time employees and a range of part time contractors and ongoing volunteers.

About AusTriathlon

AusTriathlon (AT) is the official National Sporting Organisation responsible for the sports of triathlon, paratriathlon and multisport within Australia.

From sanctioning over 600 events on the triathlon calendar to representing Australia on the world stage, AusTriathlon ensures there is an opportunity for everyone to enjoy triathlon, paratriathlon and multisport – from juniors and novices right through to world champions.

There are over 16,000 individual members and 220 affiliated triathlon and multisport clubs and squads across Australia. AT employs 30 full time employees and a range of part time employees, contractors and dedicated volunteers.

About the Role

Working closely with the CEOs and senior executive leads, the HR Business Partner provides services to Baseball Australia and AusTriathlon under an agreement between both organisations.

  • The HR Business Partner will build an effective people management function for up to 60 employees across both organisations, leading and delivering projects, policies, programs and practices. You will provide advice and support to maintain and further develop a positive and productive workforce culture and further develop the employee value propositions for both sporting organisations as we strive towards becoming an employer of choice.
  • Key focus areas include workforce planning, recruitment, training and development, performance management, employee engagement and wellbeing, diversity, equity and inclusion, employment law and compliance, policy, administration and introduction of a HR software platform supporting both organisations.
  • We are dedicated to building vibrant and inclusive workplaces where our employees can thrive and succeed. You’ll be supported not only by internal management, but by becoming an integral member of the network of people and culture professionals throughout the national sports sector.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in HR generalist roles including recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, diversity, workforce planning and contributing to change management initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a knowledgeable resource and advisor to people leaders.
  • Applied knowledge and understanding of contemporary HR, learning and development and performance management frameworks, policy and practices.
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and problem-solving skills to manage competing demands and create effective win-win solutions.
  • Ideally, however not required, you will be well versed in using Employment Hero and other technology to automate processes and support a geographically diverse workforce.

Remuneration and Benefits

The HR Business Partner is a permanent, part time role, 3 days per week. A pro rata salary based on a full-time salary of $110,000 + super is offered, along with free parking, a telephone allowance and modern offices in either Milton, Brisbane or Homebush, Sydney.
