Gymnastics NSW (GNSW) is a dynamic sporting organisation that services over 70,000 gymnasts annually. With a social media presence of over 30,000 people, GNSW celebrates, showcases, and promotes our inspiring and diverse sport across various social channels.

We are looking for applicants who have a passion for social media and creating engaging content to join our team initially on a 12-month contract.

How you will contribute:

  • Create and post content on our social platforms, i.e. Facebook Group & Page, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Plan, schedule and execute creative content that is engaging and relatable while meeting our brand vision. This includes in-house content, styling videos, educational videos, long-form videos to tell stories, plus other ideas you bring to the table!
  • Develop ideas for collaborations with existing and new potential brands and influencers that will grow the brand’s reach and following.
  • Collaborate with all areas of the organisation to meet the internal needs of the departments eg. events, competitions, club development, high performance, education.
  • Plan and develop concepts for ‘Live’ videos to engage with our audience and build genuine interaction.
  • Oversee online enquiries and monitor comments.
  • Analysis of top competitors and idea generation from various industries.
  • Plan and execute compelling competitions or giveaway campaigns to engage and grow our following.
  • Report on social media performance.
  • Stay on top of social trends to further engage the market.
  • Attend and create engaging content at GNSW events and activities.

To be successful in this role:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or previous experience in a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of current social media strategies and trends.
  • Demonstrated social media growth in previous roles which maybe volunteer positions.
  • Strong copywriting skills.
  • Ability to edit photos and stories on mobile apps such as Canva.
  • Ability to work in a team & autonomously.

Location:

The position will be based in Homebush, New South Wales however will require travel within New South Wales to attend events and workshops.

Reviews: 

Gymnastics NSW will carry out performance appraisals, against mutually established performance objectives, at agreed intervals. Remuneration reviews will be carried out annually.

Hours of Work:

The Gymnastics NSW office operate between the hours of 9.00am - 5.00pm, Monday - Fridays., however due to the “always on” nature of social media, flexibility will be granted to accommodate content work outside traditional working hours.  

You will be expected to attend designated events under their portfolio, out of hours and weekend work will be required.
