Trinity Anglican School is seeking applications for Learn to Swim Instructors to join our friendly Aquatic Centre team.

Trinity Anglican School (TAS) is the leading Independent Anglican school in Far North Qld. With an unrivalled reputation for excellence in FNQ, TAS has a K-12 campus at White Rock and a K-6 campus at Kewarra Beach. This opportunity is based at our White Rock Campus.

As part of the Prep to Year 6 curriculum, students participate in a compulsory swimming program that promotes the importance of physical education, health and wellbeing in a fun and new environment.

All primary-aged students swim from February through to November at the White Rock Campus at the TAS Aquatic Centre, and at the Kewarra Beach Campus at an alternative aquatic centre.

The TAS Aquatic Centre also hosts a Learn to Swim Program, catering to children as young as 3 years old right through to adults.

The role of Learn to Swim Instructor will work across the programs as required, as part of the TAS Aquatic Team.

Do you have:

  • Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Qualification
  • Pool Lifeguard Certificate (Desirable)
  • Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) or Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID012)
  • Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (HLTAID009)
  • Blue Card

Are you a team member who can:

Under the supervision of the Coordinator:  

  • Provide water safety lessons including:
    • how to self-rescue
    • buddy up
    • know your limits
    • swim in safe areas only
    • be careful about diving
    • how to recognise and prepare for situations around water
    • how to get help
  • Teach students correct swimming stroke technique.
  • Assist with pool maintenance and cleaning.
  • Assist with other activities as required.
