Hallam Secondary College has a long history of sporting success and was one of the first sports academies established in Victoria. Recently, the academy underwent a significant review of its operations and has decided to advertise for coaching expressions of interest.
We seek high-performing coaches to drive athletic development, standards and sporting success in AFL Boys, AFL Girls, Rugby League Boys and Rugby League Girls. Many of our athletes participate in pathway programs in rugby league and Coates Talent League.
We are seeking expressions of interest for a committed and high-performing coach. This will involve one main weekly training session (approximately three hours of coaching/planning per week on a Wednesday afternoon) plus a craft session of approximately one hour per week on a Thursday morning throughout the school term (approximately 35 weeks per year in 2025).
Note that some travelling may be required. The successful coach will be the head coach on game days, and additional time may be available to design and implement individual athlete development plans. The head coach will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Sport and report to the Director of Sports.
The college employs a sports scientist and strength and conditioning coach, who works with the head coach to ensure athletes are physically prepared for competition. We also use a range of sports science equipment, including GPS. Students are expected to use the gymnasium and pilates studio two to three times per week outside their sports program.
