Description

The Participation and Inclusion Coordinator is responsible for offering opportunities for people to participate in the sport of hockey. They will continue to review existing and create new opportunities to attract people to participate in the sport of hockey. The successful candidate will be required to coordinate introductory and inclusion programs and competitions that are of an exceptional standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Participation

  • Responsible for the implementation of the Hockey ACT Participation Plan.
  • Cultivate additional participation offerings with community groups to grow the game of hockey.

Hookin2Hockey

  • Manage and enhance the delivery of the Hookin2Hockey program centres, parents and coaches ensuring that this product remains consistent between locations and offers the highest level of customer service to ensure participant retention.
  • Organisation and delivery of the Hookin2Hockey Carnivals.

Schools & School Holiday Programs

  • In conjunction with Hockey Australia and the Australian Sports Commission coordinate all aspects of the Hookin2Hockey Schools and Sporting Schools Program. This includes but not limited to promote the program to schools, coordinate the program with schools, organise and manage casual Hookin2Hockey coaches and provide resources and training to these coaches.
  • Plan, deliver and grow the Schools Roadshow across the Canberra region.
  • Develop concepts and programs which Hockey ACT can run through school holiday periods. These clinics may be hockey specific or include multiple sports however the key focus must remain having children remaining active and promoting health and well-being to attendees.

Social Competitions

  • Assist in the development and coordination of Hockey ACT’s social and participation-based programs.
  • Organise and manage casual staff to facilitate social and indoor seasons.

Diversity and Inclusion

  • Drive the Hockey ACT inclusion portfolio, including but not limited to; LGBTQI+ inclusion, gender equity, all abilities, CALD groups, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island groups.
  • Removing barriers where possible for people to participate in all areas of hockey including accessibility, governance, format, and education.

Hockey ACT (HACT) is the not-for-profit state sporting organisation responsible for the development, governance, promotion and delivery of hockey programs within the ACT. HACT comprises of 22 member clubs and owns and operates two facilities The National Hockey Centre at Lyneham and Tuggeranong Hockey Park, Greenway.
