Do you have a passion for driving performance and creating excellence in sport?  We’re looking for a dedicated Sport Program Manager to lead our teams and achieve transformative outcomes in our partnered sports programs.

In this influential role, you’ll work directly with coaches and performance sport services, ensuring each program is aligned with our organisational KPIs and national strategy to foster a culture of peak excellence.

WAIS was established in 1984 to enable Western Australian athletes to achieve international sporting success.  Our vision is to have Western Australian sporting champions creating community pride and inspiring the next generation. We operate in partnership with National Sporting Organisations and State Sporting Associations along with the VenuesWest and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to deliver a high-performance training environment for sports and athletes.

Role Overview:

The Sport Program Manager role leads interdisciplinary teams to achieve partnered sport program outcomes. They will work alongside two other Sport Program Managers to oversee a selection of assigned sports programs.

They ensure alignment with organisational KPIs and national strategy and as a pivotal leader, this role actively engages coaches and performance sport services to drive peak performance and instil a culture of excellence across assigned programs.

About you:

  • You have at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role such as a Head Coach, Sport Program Manager or similar.
  • You have genuine care for athletes with a proven commitment to upholding the WAIS philosophy of Winning Well with the ability to drive this mindset through the sport programs at WAIS.  
  • As one of three Sports Program Managers all overseeing a different allocation of sports programs, you’ll be an excellent collaborator easily working with and supporting colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • You have strong understanding of the Australian high performance sport landscape and system.
  • You know the importance of world-class performance standards and how they apply for practitioners within sports programs. 
  • You are very skilled at building effective working relationships with those around you - in short, people love working with you! 
  • You can keep your cool under pressure, handling a fast paced, complex work environment with ease.  
  • You can juggle multiple priorities - effectively managing your own time whilst supporting your team to ensure the achievement of their priorities.  
  • Above all else, you are a team player that cares about others and always acts with kindness and integrity.
