We’re looking for an experienced Performance Support Manager to lead a high impact multidisciplinary team of practitioners working with WAIS athletes.
In this newly created role, you will be leading a team of practitioners across the disciplines of Physiotherapy, Psychology, Strength and Conditioning, Physiology, Biomechanics, Dietetics, and Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement.

WAIS was established in 1984 to enable Western Australian athletes to achieve international sporting success. We operate in partnership with National Sporting Organisations and State Sporting Associations along with the VenuesWest and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to deliver a high- performance training environment for sports and athletes.

Role Overview:
The role is dedicated to leading a team and driving holistic performance standards across our organisation as we enter the LA2028 Olympic cycle, whilst upholding our Win Well philosophy where the wellbeing of our athletes is paramount.
The role is at the heart of creating a safe, inclusive, and high-performance environment, closing aligned with WAIS organisational KPIs and national strategy.
About you:
- To be successful in this role, you will come from a background as a practitioner in one of the disciplines under your direction and have experience working with other disciplines throughout your career (specifically you’ll need qualifications and professional accreditation to meet the Australian Performance Support Practitioner Minimum Standards as outlined by the Australian Institute of Sport).
- You have genuine care for athletes with a proven commitment to upholding the WAIS philosophy of Winning Well with the ability to drive this mindset through the Performance Support Lead roles and wider Performance Support team.
- You have at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role within an interdisciplinary team and program environment,
- You have an understanding of a range of human performance/professional disciplines and how they interact to provide interdisciplinary performance outcomes in a high-performance environment.
- You are very skilled at building effective working relationships with those around you - in short, people love working with you!
- You can keep your cool under pressure, handling a fast paced, complex work environment with ease.
- You can juggle multiple priorities - effectively managing your own time whilst supporting your team to ensure the achievement of their priorities.
- You have worked with national or international high-performance sport or business previously.
- Above all else, you are a team player that cares about others and always acts with kindness and integrity.
