The Diamonds have won 12 out of 15 World Cups (including the inaugural World Championships in 1963). Since netball became a Commonwealth Games sport in 1998, Australia has won five gold medals and are the current number one team in the INF World Rankings.
You will be joining a team of passionate individuals who take pride in their skills, love what they do and thoroughly enjoy being part of making Netball one of the most loved sports in Australia.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Plan and lead a portfolio of events, as allocated by the business, ensuring seamless delivery of Netball Australia’s objectives and strategic priorities. This may encompass any existing event formats or new events/initiatives.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of International and National Netball Events including the SSN Grand Final.
- Promote innovation and service excellence to deliver amazing event experiences for all stakeholders.
- Create and maintain robust, collaborative and flexible working relationship with internal staff, external member organisations, contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure all reporting relating to an event is completed throughout the event cycle.
- Conduct planning, briefing and debriefing meetings with all internal and external hirers ensuring all internal timelines are met and planning and debriefing documents produced.
- In collaboration with the Senior Events Manager, maintain active management of your event budgets, ensuring events are delivered within budget.
- Have a positive and collaborative mindset when working within NA, key stakeholders, venues, State associations, and participants of the nominated events
- Alignment of objectives and strategic direction to ensure the successful delivery for Netball Australia’s event calendar.
- Be agile and adaptive within a continually evolving event schedule and portfolio
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated alignment with NA Values
- A tertiary qualification in a related discipline and/or experience in a sporting industry
- Previous experience in the delivery of operational objectives.
- Demonstrated understanding of the fan experience.
- An ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a diverse and complex range of stakeholders
- A professional and personable approach in all dealings
- Ability to work collaboratively
- A passion for sport at all levels, a knowledge of Netball is desirable.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset
On the cusp of our centenary, and significant opportunity leading into the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney, there has never been a more exciting time to join. This full-time opportunity is based at our HQ in vibrant Fitzroy, where you will be spoilt for choice on great coffee spots! Our teams work flexibly, and we encourage the successful applicant to discuss flexible working options with their new Manager. Given the unique nature of the sports industry, and the regional/global nature of the organisation, working outside of Netball HQ and traditional office hours may be required.
