We are a rehabilitation and performance facility located within a state of the art gym (Powerhouse Southside) and are now expanding to the new Powerhouse Performance and Recovery centre in Westfield Mount Gravatt! Hence we are now looking for a Sports Physiotherapist to deliver exceptional evidence based management for our majority athlete population, as well as our gen pop clientele.
About the role:
- As a Physiotherapist, you will conduct injury assessment for both acute and chronic sporting injuries, as well as construct and deliver programs for our injured athletes
- You will also be responsible for the delivery of programs within our Athlete Performance Program
Your performance will be based upon:
- Number of athletes currently under your care
- Number of successful transitions of athletes into our rehab and/or performance program
- The ability to keep athletes within your care throughout their rehabilitation and/or performance enhancement process
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Perform initial assessments for our majority athletic population, with some gen pop clientele
- Be heavily involved in the construction and delivery of programs for our rehab and APP athletes on the gym floor
- Build strong, healthy relationships with athletes
- Conduct Return to Run and Return to contact sessions on the field?
- Keep clearly written documentation and notes for all athletes and clientele
- Perform manual therapy when indicated
- Present monthly presentations to other staff on sports injury topics as part of our professional development
- Develop and foster relationships with specialists whom have referred clients to us
- Potential to be involved in on field sports coverage for our Sponsored AFL and Rugby League teams
- Film and post to our social media account to help drive athletes to our clinic
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with gym members and gym staff
The type of Physio we’re looking for:
- We are a constantly evolving profession, the evidence is always changing, hence the desire to be hungry for knowledge in the sports injury and performance space is crucial if you were to be a part of our team
- Although confidence in your ability is crucial, if you feel that you know it all and you're not willing to continuously learn, change perspectives based on new and evolving research and be willing to consider other clinical perspectives - we're not the practice for you
- In addition to having a keen interest in sports injury management and performance, it’s vital that you are eager to help attract athletes to our facility and contribute to driving the growth of our reputation as a premium sports injury management and performance centre
This role will ideally start as a Casual role for approximately 3 months, moving to part time for another 6 months, then moving to a full time capacity. However this is open to discussion or potential for sooner full time opportunities if we feel you're a great fit.
At Sports and Functional Physio, we're not your average physio clinic. We pride ourselves on delivering quality evidence based care to our athletes. Our reputation is everything.
Please be aware that although our clientele is 80% athletic population (team sports, weekend warrior, gym based athletes), we still see a minority of gen pop clientele (I.e some work cover and occasional non-active clientele). However our focus is majority athletic and gym based populations which is growing stronger as our sports rehab and Athletic Performance Program continues to grow.
