About the role
The Pathway & Talent Development Coach will support the Head of Cricket to produce the next generation of Northern Territory elite cricketers, following in the footsteps of D'Arcy Short, Kane Richardson and Jake Weatherald.
This newly created role will primarily be responsible for:
- The effective implementation and management of pathway programs.
- Provide coaching leadership or support to pathway programs.
- Driving and delivering coach development programs.
The role will work closely with the Head of Cricket to systematically identify, select and develop talented male and female players, coaches and officials, and ensure the most effective pathway structures and programs are in place to ensure talented participants reach their potential.
The position requires a talented high performance cricket coach who has a highly developed knowledge and understanding of the Australian Cricket ecosystem (from entry level to pathways through to elite teams).
The ideal candidate will have the passion, patience and capability to build and implement best practice in the Northern Territory, and will be intrinsically motivated by the challenge and opportunity of long-term program and athlete development.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Coaching, Education, Sports Management or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in athlete development, high performance sport, teaching or related field (minimum 3 years).
- Highly developed knowledge and understanding of Australian Cricket ecosystem (from entry level to elite teams).
- Cricket Australia Representative (Level 2) or High Performance (Level 3) Coaching Certification (essential).
- Demonstrated capability to design, develop and deliver cricket programs (or equivalent).
- High level of coaching and instruction ability, including understanding of coaching pedagogy.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence and the ability to build strong relationships.
- Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of developing trends in coaching, skill development and long-term holistic development.
- Demonstrated success in leading change and reform practices, processes, systems and initiatives.
- Advanced analytical, planning and organisation skills to effectively deliver a diverse work program, manage resources and act ethically.
