The role will lead the growth strategy for female rugby participation in NSW. The key focus’ will be:
Growing female participation at all levels of the game including playing, coaching, refereeing, volunteering and administration
Develop resources and strategies that will support clubs and schools to grow participation
Success in this role will result in strong growth in Female Participation and a well-resourced and aligned rugby community that is motivated and capable of growing female participation.
Key Accountabilities
Strategy & Leadership
Lead the delivery of the ‘Play Our Way’ grant for Female participation including project management and acquittal
Act as secretary of NSW Womens Rugby, ensuring alignment to the NSW Rugby Union strategic plan and supporting / facilitating the quality functioning and connection to development, competitions and pathways for female rugby participation
Develop the Female participation growth strategy in conjunction with NSW Womens Rugby, Country / Metro affiliates, and the NSW Rugby CEO / Senior leadership team
Lead the implementation of the Female Participation strategy and advocate for programs and initiatives that will increase female participation
Identify funding opportunities (Government, Donors and Sponsorship) to drive increased investment into female rugby
Audit female rugby playing opportunities across the state to identify gaps and growth opportunities
Inspire
Deliver youth girls Rugby Camps in targeted locations across NSW while ensuring camps are accessible to First Nations and CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) populations as well as those facing Socio Economic Disadvantage
In conjunction with development and competition staff, organise all aspects of the camps, including booking fields, ordering uniforms, arranging first aid, and managing staff and budgets
Coordinate with Super W players to act as role models and deliver Female Athlete Health and Wellbeing modules at each camp
Work in conjunction with NSW Rugby media team and external providers to develop and lead marketing campaigns that will increase awareness and engagement among adolescent girls
Work with the SportsBra Foundation to run Sports Bra Donation Drives and deliver to girls without access to this vital piece of equipment
Work with the Commercial and Foundation staff to secure additional funding and in-kind contributions for the camps and marketing initiatives
Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver long-term strategies to grow female participation in rugby at all levels
Participate
Work closely with local Development Officers and Competition Managers to plan and execute recruitment programs
Work with Country and Metro Affiliates to establish and promote new girls' competitions in areas / regions that lack adolescent girls' rugby competitions and opportunities
Ensure that new competitions are appropriately resourced and supported to sustainably build quality competitions and club environments
Work with competition managers and development staff to support the logistics of these competitions, including development programs, field bookings, scheduling, equipment orders, and communication with clubs and schools
Actively engage with schools, clubs and community groups to increase awareness and participation in these new competitions
Support
Organise, promote and deliver a Female Coaching Conference, including venue and accommodation bookings, securing presenters, and managing the logistics
Develop a comprehensive Female Coaching and Player Resource Toolkit to support female players, coaches, and administrators in their development
Provide ongoing support to clubs and schools in developing and implementing female rugby programs, ensuring they have the resources to grow participation
Conduct regular surveys and reports to monitor the success of programs and competitions, using feedback to continuously improve offerings
Regularly meet with key stakeholders and attend Female Rugby events to build relationships and connection that will help align the rugby community to drive female participation

Drivers Licence
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, with proven experience managing and working with volunteers
Strong knowledge of community rugby, previous experience working with clubs and schools
Previous experience and proven attention to detail in managing and delivering on grant agreements / project plans, including an ability to analyse, plan, monitor, evaluate and prioritise
A driven self-starter with a proactive attitude who cares about female participation
Computer literate – proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
