Description

Reservoir United Soccer Club is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer for the role of Junior Technical Director, responsible for supporting the junior program and assisting in the development of young players and coaches. This position provides a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills in coaching and sports management while contributing to the success of our youth soccer program.

Reports To: Club President, Vice-President

Location: 15 Johnson St Reservoir and associated venues

Role Overview:

The Junior Technical Director will assist in the planning, administration, and delivery of the junior program, working closely with the coaching staff to ensure a positive experience for players and consistent development across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Assistance: Help coordinate the season’s leagues, fixtures, and results for the junior program, ensuring efficient and smooth operations.
  2. Coach Support: Assist in the training and mentoring of volunteer coaches, offering guidance on coaching techniques and player development strategies.
  3. Communication: Serve as a key contact for coaches, players, parents, and volunteers, promoting a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
  4. Training Implementation: Work alongside coaching staff to support the delivery of age-appropriate training sessions and technical development plans.
  5. Reporting: Provide regular feedback and updates to the Club President and committee, assisting in the maintenance of logs for issues and progress tracking.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Emerging Leadership Skills: Some experience in coaching or mentoring is preferred, with a willingness to learn and grow in a leadership role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of soccer coaching principles, particularly for youth programs.
  • Strong Communication: Able to effectively engage with players, parents, coaches, and volunteers.
  • Team Player: Experience working in volunteer settings and a collaborative approach to community sports.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using office software and open to learning competition management systems.
  • Passionate About Soccer: Demonstrates enthusiasm for youth sports and making a positive impact on the club.
  • Flexible Schedule: Willingness to assist during weekends and evenings, especially in the soccer season.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Working With Children Check (WWC).
  • Basic coaching accreditation or relevant experience is advantageous but not required.

Commitment:

This is a volunteer role with flexible hours. Time commitments will vary, with increased involvement expected during peak soccer season. Support and guidance will be provided to help the Junior Technical Director grow in the role.
