Football Victoria (FV) is currently seeking two Community Competitions Coordinators to join our Competitions team. The role entails overseeing, coordinating, and managing all Community Competitions across Metropolitan & Regional Victoria, while collaborating closely with member clubs to enhance the game day experiences for all players.
Key responsibilities and focus for these roles include:
- Assisting and coordinating, implementing and release of competition fixtures and grading.
- Coordinate any required fixture changes, rescheduling and requests.
- Coordinate team entry processes.
- Finalise and implement competition structures.
- Liaise with Referees Department regarding match officials for competition fixtures.
- Review, revise (where required) and enforce the Rules of Competition and supporting Regulations.
- Engage and work with community and club stakeholders to build awareness, share knowledge, and obtain information required to support effective management of competitions and awards.
- Respond to enquiries related to registrations, competitions, fixtures, rules and regulations.
- Coordinate, train and assist clubs with rules, processes and requirements relating to registrations and applications.
- Support the coordination and delivery of competition specific functions for events administered by FV.
- Liaise with the Growth & Development department and local government authorities/venue operators to conduct pitch and facility inspections and certify facilities for competition fixtures.
- Promote inclusive practice and ensure any organisational decision making and programs implemented include the needs of all segments of the football community – Juniors, Men’s, Women’s, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD), Indigenous and people of all abilities.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage processes, systems and stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
- Tertiary qualification in sports administration/management or relevant discipline is desirable.
- Thorough understanding and demonstrated experience of competitions-based administration in the sports industry.
These roles also require:
- A current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Current driver’s license.
- This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work and as such a preparedness to. work non-traditional hours and weekend work is required.
- Travel is primarily local during business days; some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
