Netball NSW is a not-for-profit organisation and is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by professional staff. Netball NSW is the peak state sporting organisation responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of netball throughout New South Wales and is affiliated to Netball Australia.
Netball NSW has a proud history of elite netball teams and athletes’ performances in national and international competition. Over 300 athletes have proudly represented NSW in elite competition since the inception of the national netball league in 1997 and then the ANZ Championship. 2017 saw the introduction of the Suncorp Super Netball, the top Australian domestic competition which includes two Netball NSW elite teams, the NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball.
Purpose of the Position
The purpose of the role is to manage existing partner relationships and deliver contractual obligations for commercial partners of Netball NSW and GIANTS Netball. This position is to ensure Netball NSW achieve consistent profitable growth in commercial revenues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing partners, understanding their partnership and business objectives and measures of success.
- Work with the Commercial & Marketing team to provide exceptional service to partners.
- Deliver contractual benefits for Netball NSW and GIANTS Netball Partners.
- Identify and create opportunities for partners to leverage their involvement with the sport.
- Coordinate partners at all required events such as Suncorp Super Netball home games, gala dinners, luncheons and other events.
- Manage and produce tracking documents and seasonal reports.
- Support Netball NSW members, Associations, Clubs & individuals throughout commercial opportunities.
- Ensure consistent, profitable growth in revenue through planning and management of partners.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships across all internal departments.
Sales Management
- Work with the Commercial & Marketing team to manage renewals of existing partners.
- Develop proposals for renewals and new opportunities for existing partners including presentations.
- Understand and articulate Netball NSW’s value proposition and incorporate it into areas of growth for partnerships.
- Attend and conduct face-to-face meetings
- Liaise with all areas of the organisation to identify & develop sponsorship opportunities.
- Work with the Commercial & Marketing team to ensure a consistent, profitable growth in revenue through positive planning and management of partners
- Support General Manager – New Business on new partnership opportunities across GIANTS Netball and Netball NSW
Event Management & Promotions
- Deliver partner servicing requirements at all GIANTS Netball and Netball NSW events.
Relationships
Required to develop and manage a range of internal and external relationships including:
- Chief Executive Officer.
- Partners and other key stakeholders.
- Relevant Netball NSW staff including General Manager - New Business and Executive General Manager - GIANTS Netball
- External Consultants.
General
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key personnel throughout the State.
- Abide by, promote and actively enforce Netball NSW policies.
- Actively participate and be part of the Netball NSW Team, where applicable.
- Any other duties as requested by the Chief Executive Officer.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Candidates for the position will require a range of personal and professional skills including:
Essential qualifications and experience
- Strong account management, marketing and promotional experience with a minimum of three to five years' experience in a similar role.
- Strong organisational skills managing multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Working independently and/or part of a team to meet deadlines.
- Ability to multitask in a high pressure environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial and value propositions, return on investment and objectives.
- Current drivers license.
Knowledge and skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, plus a strong working knowledge of Microsoft office suite is required.
- High level of problem solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated creative ability.
