ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced VAR Project Manager to oversee the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) systems and other officiating technologies across Australian football. This role is pivotal in enhancing the integrity and accuracy of match officiating.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Act as a main point of contact for all VAR operational matters with key stakeholders and third-party suppliers (including IFAB/FIFA, NEP, Hawk-Eye, broadcasters) managing communication and information flow
- Support in the development and testing of related policies and procedures and training programmes
- Maintain accreditation logs to ensure that all new Match Officials, Replay Operators and Stadia are fully IFAB accredited
- Maintain accurate statistical data with regards to VAR incidents and outcomes
- Liaise with APL and clubs to ensure that stadia have all the necessary VAR infrastructure
- Work with Legal to manage supplier contracts and any updates required
- Liaise with the Hawk-Eye and NEP duty managers to ensure all systems are working correctly, and assist with communication for troubleshooting where required
- In the event of an issue arising on match day, ensure all relevant stakeholders are kept informed during and after the incident
- Prepare and manage the VAR budget as part of the ProRef budget
- Build network with International VAR Operations Managers to share knowledge and best working practice

ABOUT YOU
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of VAR and the technology associated with it
- International experience working with VAR
- Technological I.T experience
- Degree or equivalent

Additional Requirements:
- Full working rights in Australia
- Working with children check (paid/employee) or state-based equivalent
- International Criminal History Record for each country (other than Australia) in which you have resided for 12 months or more in the last 10 years (if applicable)
- Out of hours and weekend work as required
