We are looking for a Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our Sports Department.

This is a part time, term-time only role, offering 12 hours per week. Sessions will need to be held across a week before school (6.30am - 8.30am), during lunch and after school (3.00pm - 5.00pm). 

Working with the Director of Sport (K-12) and our coaching team, the purpose of this role is to lead team focused and student based training sessions, and design and implement individual and team-based strength and conditioning training programs. 

As part of our school strategy, there is a large focus on sports programs. We have an on-site gym and are looking for the right person to take our teams to the next level.  

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, plan and collaborate with the Head of Sport and sports coaches, a pre-season and in-season strength and conditioning program aimed at improving athletic performance
  • Implement and run the strength and conditioning programs through training sessions
  • Collect, analyse and report player training loads across the pre-season and in-season
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the implementation of the student programs
  • Contribute to the development of an integrated program for athlete preparation
  • Support student injury management and athlete rehabilitation programs.
  • Implement and run general fitness sessions for students within the school
  • Implement and run general fitness sessions for staff within the school

About the Successful Applicant

The successful applicant will have relevant knowledge and experience of strength and conditioning principles for athletic performance and injury prevention in adolescents and will have demonstrable experience in the delivery of strength and conditioning services to student athletes and coaches.

Experience in designing and implementing similar training programs and a good understanding of data collection, analysis and reporting is crucial in order to monitor and measure the success of our programs.

A Level 1 ASCA - Strength & Conditioning coach accreditation with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association is preferred, or the capacity and willingness to complete the certification.

All applicants need to hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012. 

This could be an excellent opportunity for a current university student to gain relevant practical experience in a growing school sports program.
