This role will work directly with the Senior Coach and within the overall coaching group and includes working on plans to develop skills and character of the playing group. The role works closely with the Coaching group, Football Operations and Medical Team and Team Managers to assist in delivering the best coaching outcome possible.
Essential to the success of this role includes the following responsibilities:
Assist the Senior Coach as a “line coach” coach during training and match days.
Assist in the overall defining and refining the “game plan”
Participate in the selection process as a member of Match Committee covering all teams within the club.
Plan and contribute to the skills acquisition, physical attributes, matchday awareness and personal growth of all players across each of the 4 teams.
Be a leader and always demonstrate and portray the values of the Club.
This role can also provide a valuable stepping stone for someone who has senior coaching aspirations and ambitions.
Preseason
The Senior Assistant /Development Coach will be assisting and coordinating the preseason training effort and activities from late November through to March
Regular Season
The season proper begins in April and continues through to late September which includes the finals.
Training will be a minimum of two nights a week, nominally Tuesday and Thursday nights between 6.00pm and 8.00pm on and match days on Saturday.
Personal Requirements:
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal/relationship skills.
Ability to work with and manage existing communications platforms and engage positively with stakeholders
Knowledge of football tactics, drills, and match preparation.
A passion for sport, particularly football and developing people.
Clear understanding of the ethics of amateur football
