ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for multiple Sports Trainers to join our AFLW/VFLW Medical Department for Season 2025. The role involves providing hand-on support to players, including massage and taping, to enhance their performance and recovery.
This is a casual position, commencing in Feburary of 2024. The successful applicants must be available to attend training sessions (up to 3 sessions a week in pre-season and 2 sessions in season) and match day in season, on either a Saturday or Sunday.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting directly to the Head Trainer, the key areas of responsibilities will include:
- Massage/Taping
- Player Hydration on game day/trainings
- Injury management
- Liaise with team doctor and other medical staff regarding player injuries
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of sports training experience at a similar level and hold a Level 1 Sports Trainer Certificate, along with current First Aid and CPR certifications. While a Diploma in Remedial Massage or Myotherapy is advantageous, it is not essential.
Strong organisational skills, professionalism and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are crucial for this role. You should also demonstrate the capacity to perform well under pressure, ensuring a high standard of care and support in a dynamic sporting environment.
