What You’ll Do

As Commercial Manager, you will execute the WNBL's strategy, drive revenue growth through strategic sales activities, and ensure the successful delivery of partnerships while fostering new commercial opportunities. Reporting to the WNBL Chief Executive Officer and the NBL Chief Commercial Officer, you'll play a key role in achieving the league's commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Lead the development and management of our commercial sales pipeline
  • Secure and grow partnerships through compelling proposals and excellent delivery
  • Manage commercial contracts and partnership assets

Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with brands, agencies, and WNBL teams
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for commercial partners
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver partner value

Strategic Development & Execution

  • Execute the WNBL's commercial strategy alongside the Chief Commercial Officer
  • Identify and develop new commercial opportunities
  • Create innovative partnership solutions that drive revenue growth

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven commercial experience (5+ years) in sports, media, or sponsorship sales, with a demonstrable track record of exceeding revenue targets
  • Experience building and managing high-value partnerships, from prospecting through to activation
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and convert new business opportunities
  • Outstanding relationship management skills, with experience managing multiple stakeholder groups
  • Strategic thinking and excellent negotiation abilities
  • Expert project management skills with experience delivering complex commercial partnerships
  • Understanding of the Australian sports landscape, with women's sport experience highly regarded
