What You'll Do
As Compliance Officer you'll be responsible for upholding the WNBL's standards for integrity, compliance, and ethical conduct. Reporting to the WNBL Chief Executive Officer and the NBL Chief Corporate & Governance Officer you'll work closely with Basketball Australia and WNBL Clubs, ensuring adherence to the National Integrity Framework and maintain a fair and transparent environment across the league.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance & Integrity Management
- Develop and oversee compliance with WNBL policies and operational standards
- Manage investigations and resolution of compliance breaches
- Serve as primary contact for integrity and compliance matters
- Conduct annual policy reviews and updates
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with BA Integrity Unit and WNBL Clubs
- Manage grievance processes and dispute resolution
- Coordinate with Game Review Panel and Tribunal operations
Game Day & Operations
- Act as primary contact for game day escalations
- Support operations team with compliance and security matters
- Participate in weekly round reviews
- Monitor and report integrity issues in real-time
What You Bring
- Proven experience in compliance, integrity, or governance roles, preferably within sports or regulatory environments
- Demonstrated experience managing integrity frameworks and implementing compliance policies
- Track record of managing investigations, disputes, and grievance processes
- Strong understanding of sports integrity and compliance frameworks, with basketball/sport knowledge highly regarded
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a complex regulatory environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to handle sensitive matters
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail
- Experience in policy development, implementation, and educational program delivery
