THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a clinical psychologist to provide mental health care and support to our AFL playing group. Success in this role will be built upon strong relationships with our athletes and staff, fostering an environment of trust.
The position will require a time commitment of approximately 0.5 FTE and can be delivered through a consultancy arrangement alongside external clinical practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessment, treatment planning and management of mental health needs across the lifespan of Sydney Swans AFL players
- Triaging and referral to specialist mental health services as required
- Collaboration with key stakeholders in the medical and player wellbeing team at the club
- Support any mental health and performance related player education
- Lead the psychological response for critical incidents to ensure trauma informed and psychologically safe practice
- Ensure adherence of all psychology practices to the requirements for the ethical and professional standards of psychological practice
- Maintain all personal case notes in accordance with the guidelines stipulated in the APS Code of Ethics
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and listed with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Minimum 2 years demonstrated experience and success working in sport with elite athletes and coaches
- Eligibility for full membership with the Australian Psychological Society
- Demonstrated experience in psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment
