ABOUT THE ROLE
The Manager - Venue Overlay, is responsible for managing and coordinating the Women’s Asian Cup 2026 (WAC26) venue overlay activities and to provide comprehensive end to end support to the entire team and event.
The Manager - Venue Overlay will play a key role in the successful delivery of all WAC26 infrastructure requirements across 5 Venues in Australia.
The remit includes working alongside the Operations, Dressing and Signage, Technology and Design teams in the strategic planning, tendering and procurement process, cost and contract management and technical design development for venue overlay activities. The successful candidate will also be involved with operational planning, installation, operations, dismantling, close-out / contract finalisations, and knowledge transfer.
This Sydney based role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional time management, prioritisation and communication skills, a thorough understanding of the event overlay market in Australia and an ability to collaborate with the business on best practice overlay delivery methodology.
Please note that this role is fixed term until April 2026.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with the operations and design managers to understand requirements and conceptualise overlay designs that align with event goals and branding
- Lead the development of overlay scope to ensure specifications, space and area allocations across all venues are developed in accordance with the event requirements and are fit for purpose
- Lead the development of tender requirements and subsequent for all overlay requirements
- Provide contract management and administration support to the General Manager including supplier engagement, tender processes, contracting and cost control
- Create and manage overlay fit-out and construction timelines, including the removal and reinstatement phases
- Act as the primary point of contact for Venue based facilities and technical management team for overlay planning and discussions as well as internal support
- Oversee the venue’s overlay budget for the duration of the event, ensuring all financial targets are met
- Lead a team direct reports whilst fostering a collaborative and responsive team environment

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders

- Full working rights in Australia
