ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of the LOC Security, Safety, & Access Team, the role is responsible for the comprehensive accreditation and access planning for the execution of the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup™, under the guidance of the AFC Asian Cup Office (ACO) and the Local Organising Committee (LOC).

This Sydney based role involves strategic, tactical and operational management of all accreditation and access operations that go towards ensuring effective Tournament delivery in accordance with AFC requirements outlined in the Organising Association Agreement OAA), Stadium Technical Annex (STA), List of Requirements, Policies / Guidelines and other AFC directives

Please note that this role is fixed term until April 2026.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • The Accreditation Manager will be responsible for the successful planning and ensuring a successful delivery of the accreditation and access services and operations in Australia for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026™.
  • Integrate Accreditation and Access Program Area planning and deliverables into the Tournament Wide Planning.
  • Develop and implement accreditation and access plans in coordination with government authorities, ensuring the alignment with government and AFC requirements.
  • Implementation and set up of the AFC access management system including ensuring correct rule set up, access control equipment roll out to security personnel, training of all users, testing and onsite operations and troubleshooting.
  • Liaising and collaborating with host country public authorities i.e. government authority to secure their support on security background check and effective integration in tournament planning and delivery.
  • Develop all accreditation zones with venue management. Ensure Access plans are complete for all accredited venues.
  • Collaborate with Venue Management in the development of dot plans and flows with regards to zoning and constituent groups and coordinate with Safety and Security and Accreditation.

ABOUT YOU

Experience, Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Proven leadership experience, demonstrates the ability to manage cross functional large teams, oversee complex operations, and drive organisational success.
  • Extensive professional background and experience in accreditation and access management and leadership within Major Sports Events.
  • Worked in a major event with AUS CHECK with an operational knowledge of AUS CHECK’s requirements and operations.
  • Ability to manage and to operate in a dynamic working environment, handling multiple projects concurrently and under pressure, i.e. constituent group management, security background check requirements and management, process planning, data protection obligations, system setup requirements, consumables planning and production, planning and implementing operations.
  • Understanding of accreditation and access management operations, preferably in a sports environment. Knowledge and understanding of legislation and regulation relating to the provision of accreditation and background checks.
  • Experience of developing concepts, procedures and policies for accreditation and access at major sports events and translating these into effective operational delivery.
  • Demonstrable experience in Accreditation and Access Control Management in a Major Event
