About the role
We are looking for a Colour Ball Competition Venue Supervisor to join our Tennis ACT team on a casual basis. In this role you will be responsible for the venue coordination and delivery of Tennis ACT Colour Ball Competition on a weekly basis.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee venue setup, ensuring courts are accessible and properly inspected for readiness before play, and notifying teams promptly in the event of wet weather or other conditions that may render courts unplayable
- Ensure that scorecards and balls are prepared for each match and assist with court setup as needed
- Supervise venue during matches, assist to resolve on court matters, and assign Team Supervisors to adjudicate as required
- Greet teams on arrival, allocate balls and direct teams to match courts, and enter all match results into League Manager
- Provide any Tennis ACT updates or requirements to Team Supervisors as required
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Knowledge of Tennis scoring, the Rules of Tennis and Tennis Etiquette and Rules for Non-Umpired
Matches - Experience in delivering competitions across various platforms (tennis or non-tennis) is desirable
- Strong ability to learn sport-specific competition software and systems, with prior experience using League Manager highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present to groups and speak publicly
- Exceptional people management skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative, prioritise tasks and deal
with conflict - Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
