Description

YMCA SA is seeking a passionate and highly organized Programs & Operations Coordinator to oversee the effective coordination and management of our swimming lessons program, swimming pool operations, lifeguarding/duty management teams, and the Kids Club (creche). This diverse and rewarding role involves planning and implementing recreation programs, recruiting and training staff, and ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and engaging environment for all participants and patrons.

With responsibility across two vibrant, community-focused venues - The Valleys Lifestyle Centre in Clare and Riverton Outdoor Pool in Riverton - the Coordinator will play a key role in delivering exceptional experiences for individuals of all ages and abilities. The role includes overseeing pool operations, water chemistry management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, while also stepping into direct shifts as a swim teacher, duty manager, and lifeguard.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

Our ideal candidate will have, or be willing to obtain the following qualifications:

  • AustSwim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent)
  • AustSwim Teacher of Infant and preschool Aquatics (or equivalent)
  • Professional AustSwim Registration (or equivalent)
  • SISSS00133 Pool Lifeguard or equivalent
  • SISSS00131 Aquatic Technical Operator or equivalent
  • (HLTAID0011) Provide First Aid or equivalent
  • (HLTAID009) Provide CPR or equivalent
  • Child-Safe Environments (Reporting Abuse and Neglect) Certificate (RRHAN-EC)
  • Current Driver’s Licence
