Table Tennis Australia (TTA) is a not-for-profit member-based organisation.
It is an Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games sport that is enjoyed by all age groups of the community from Juniors through to Veterans competitors.
TTA is the National Sporting Organisation for the sport of Table Tennis in Australia and is affiliated with both the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), who are responsible for the sport at the international level, and ITTF-Oceania, who are responsible for the sport at the continental level.
The Opportunity
The Table Tennis Australia (TTA) Para Table Tennis (PTT) High Performance Program is on a mission to achieve world best performances through excellence in the development and support of their athletes and staff.
This role is an exciting opportunity to work with the PTT High Performance Team who are passionate about building on the success of the 2024 Paralympics to continue to raise the bar.
We expect this role will uphold the Table Tennis Australia Para Program Team Values of Pride, Excellence, Respect and Caring by developing and delivering Wellbeing and Engagement (W&E) strategies and services to Table Tennis Australia Para Program Athletes as part of an integrated pro-active inter-disciplinary team approach within the Para Program.
The Detail
We are seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified W&E leaders to join the Para Table Tennis High Performance Program.
The primary responsibilities of the role will be to deliver the Wellbeing and Engagement support for PTT, this includes:
- Coordination and delivery of comprehensive W&E services to the National Table Tennis Paralympic program.
- Work with Table Tennis Australia to identify the needs of athletes at their respective stages on the athletic pathway in terms of their dual career plans, sport/ life skill development and personal development.
- The key area of focus is to assist athletes to make informed life decisions that impact their performance in sport and life.
- Assist National Table Tennis Paralympic Program with services related to the orientation into and transition out of sport along with support of ‘significant other’ in athletes’ lives.
- Provide W&E status reports to National Table Tennis Paralympic Program in a timely manner as requested and reasonable.
- Collaborate with PTT HP coaches and performance support staff in designing training environments to prepare athletes and staff for Bench Mark Events.
About you
We are looking for a genuine and authentic individual who will nurture a culture of trust, confidentiality, and integrity in the High Performance Para Program, and uphold the highest levels of integrity and safety for all.
Ideally you will have knowledge or experience gained from the sporting sector, disability services, education, health, social and community services, personal development, wellbeing, or related fields.
The following would be advantageous.
- Previous experience working in high-performance sporting environments or disability services or similar related field.
- Knowledge of emerging issues for athletes and an ability to provide proactive programs to address these issues.
- Experience developing and maintaining trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.
- A passion for inspiring people to prosper and build confidence.
- Contemporary knowledge of issues impacting mental health and wellbeing.

Position location
Ideally the successful applicant will reside in Melbourne. The role may require interstate and overseas travel.
Contract Type
The successful candidate will be contracted directly to TTA and will have their own ABN and relevant insurance coverage (public liability and professional indemnity).
