ABOUT THE ROLE

As MFA Football Development Manager, you will work closely with our General Manager. You will oversee all Coach Development and Player Development programs. This role will involve both hands-on work plus being in charge of the management of these programs. The role will also include mentoring and training coaches in our program teams to continue our rapid growth.

Start date: February 2025

Salary: Full-time position plus Laptop and Company Vehicle

Location: MFA Office - Lynwood Park, St Helens Park

Employment Duties Include:

Coach Development

  • Lead the establishment, delivery, and management of coach development initiatives aligned with the organisation’s Coach Development Plan, ensuring all coaches have access to high-quality mentoring, education, and support opportunities.
  • Organise, administer, and deliver FA coach accreditation courses, including the MiniRoos Certificate, Foundation of Football, and C Diploma courses while fostering the growth of a team of local FA-approved Coach Education Tutors (CETs).
  • Oversee the management and development of the MFA's Community Coach Development Program (CCDP) and Female Coach Development Program (FCDP), promoting inclusivity and growth within the coaching community.
  • Coordinate coach development meetings, functions, and events to enhance knowledge sharing and networking among coaches.

Player Development

  • Oversee and support the development of local competitions such as the MFA ‘SAP’ (MSAP) League and Macarthur Youth League (MYL), ensuring alignment with player development goals.
  • Manage, develop, and expand the suite of MFA player development programs, providing pathways and opportunities for players of all levels.
  • Lead the appointment and management of coaching staff, including their induction, development, rostering, payroll, performance reviews, and assessments.

General Responsibilities

  • Manage the Community Coach Development and Community Development Programs Officers, including providing regular guidance, mentorship, performance evaluations, and support for their professional growth and responsibilities.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with MFA member clubs, volunteers, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration and mutual support.
  • Ensure frequent, clear, and timely communication with members and stakeholders, promoting transparency and engagement.
  • Identify, track, and promote positive ‘good news’ stories from within the MFA community to celebrate successes and enhance visibility.
  • Prepare and submit detailed monthly reports on program progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by the MFA General Manager to support organisational objectives.

  • Ability to identify talented players and develop them through our programs
  • High-level communication and management skills
  • Highest level of football coaching knowledge and experience.
  • Working with Children
  • Drivers Licence
  • AFC/Football Australia B License
