Description

Basketball NSW is seeking a part-time Competitions Administrator to join our team based in Homebush, NSW. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing the administration of Basketball NSW's competitions, ensuring the smooth running of our state-wide tournaments and events.

What you'll be doing

League Administration

  • Assist League Coordinators with managing participant registrations.
  • Respond to participant queries regarding registration processes.
  • Assist with coordinating finals weekends (this may require attendance at finals – Time in Lieu will be provided).

Accommodation Bookings

  • Coordinate and manage accommodation bookings for competition staff and officials where required.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Actively engage with associations and stakeholders to strengthen relationships between Basketball NSW and the basketball community.
  • Serve as a point of contact for competition-related inquiries and issues, maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal departments.

Competition Orders

  • Coordinate and manage the ordering of items for Competition Finals ie medals, apparel etc

Promotion and Growth Initiatives

  • Support the administration and promotion of other BNSW competitions, events and other basketball growth initiatives where needed.
  • Contribute ideas to improve and expand competitions in NSW to further grow the sport.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Proficient in the use of databases, spreadsheets, and other productivity software to manage competition data and records
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in competition data, bookings, orders, and records management.
  • Working with Children Check – Employment
  • Valid drivers licence
  • Full working rights in Australia (your application will not be accepted without full working rights)

Desirable Criteria

  • Basketball Knowledge: Knowledge of basketball rules, regulations, and competition structures is highly advantageous.
  • Growth Mindset: Passion for helping grow and promote basketball across NSW, with a proactive attitude towards identifying opportunities for improvement.
