An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced, passionate Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Head Coach. Gold Coast Gymnastics Club is one of Queensland and Australia’s largest clubs with close to 3000 members and operates across two venues in the region with venues in Miami and Coomera.

The Club is engaging on an exciting new era and features world class facilities and equipment, technically qualified and experienced coaches and offers a rewarding and incentivised place of work.

In line with the goals of the strategic plan, the club is seeking an experienced WAG Head Coach to lead and develop the WAG competitive program to international competitive success. 

This is an opportunity for the WAG Head Coach to guide the coaching team and further expand the competitive program to international level.  There is opportunity to capitalise on a large, developing WAG competitive program, along with a strong foundation of the club’s extensive recreational program.

The successful candidate will coach a squad of WAG high performance gymnasts, manage the WAG competitive coaching team and have oversight across the entire WAG program. You must have demonstrated experience in coaching WAG gymnasts at World Championships or Olympic Games across all four WAG apparatus, confidence with communicating with parents and members; program and planning skills across a wide level of competitive gymnasts; and computer systems skills. SELECTION CRITERIA / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • WAG FIG 3 Academy coaching qualification OR demonstrated experience coaching WAG competitive gymnasts to an international level, ideally at World Championships or Olympic level
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of coaches and working in a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience in designing a WAG competitive pathway and program for gymnasts from the beginner to senior levels
  • Demonstrated experience and confidence with communicating with parents and members
  • Success in building a high-performance culture and experience delivering change through influence, innovation and tested techniques
  • Self-motivated, positive with a passion for WAG
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong, professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and present to staff and members
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional time management skills
  • Strong desire to innovate, collaborate and strive for ongoing improvement
  • Current Blue Card/Working with Children Check (Mandatory)
