About the role

We are looking for a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Lead to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. In this role, you will establish and deliver high quality participation programs and competitive play opportunities to DEI portfolios and athletes to increase participation and pathway opportunities for DEI participants across Western Australia. You will manage a small team of part-time and contracted staff members to support the delivery of the DEI Operation Plan, Reconciliation Action Plan and various funded projects.

In this role you will:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with local communities and partner organisations to assist in the delivery of tennis programs
  • Create sustainable participation programs, providing pathways and options for all players
  • Develop and manage the delivery of DEI tennis programs in both metro and regional areas across WA
  • Deliver targeted training and development programs to staff and stakeholders
  • Foster strong relationships with local custodians and champion cultural awareness & education across the WA tennis community
  • Collaborate with the Head of Tennis to develop and execute a strategic work plan and budget focused on advancing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Tennis in WA

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience working with DEI communities, with a strong understanding of cultural protocols and sensitivities
  • Demonstrated capability in building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders, including individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities
  • Strong creative and innovative skills in designing and implementing programs
  • Leadership experience, managing direct reports
  • Preferably, prior tennis coaching experience, or a willingness to complete relevant coaching education
  • Current First Aid Certificate and valid Driver's License essential
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
  • Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia
