About the Position:

NSWRL is seeking applications for the position of Systems Administrator within our Information Technology department.

This position will be responsible for maintaining and supporting NSWRL’s IT infrastructure to ensure that systems are secure, dependable and efficient to ensure business continuity and productivity.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Managing all server and endpoint systems including upgrading, installing and configuring application software and computer hardware.
  • Creating and managing system permissions and user accounts.
  • Performing regular security tests, monitoring for security breaches and implementing security measures to protect the organisations data.
  • Maintaining networks and network file systems, ensuring that network infrastructure is robust and dependable.
  • Investigating and providing technical advice on the implementation of new technologies across NSW Rugby League.
  • Managing and administering virtualisation platforms (VMWare).
  • Managing and administering Cloud platforms (Microsoft O365 and Azure).
  • Managing and administering Software as a Service (SaaS) to conform with Single Sign On (SSO) or alternative secure industry best practice.
  • Messaging and video conference collaboration platforms (e.g. MS Teams).
  • General technical support.

About You:

The successful candidate will have:

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or relevant experience
  • Skills and experiences in:
    • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
    • Firewalls, SAN, NAS, physical servers, UPS, switches and routers
    • Virtual environments (VMWare)
    • MS Windows server architectures, AD/AAD, Azure platform
    • Systems vulnerabilities and security including cyber security and antivirus strategies
    • Microsoft Office suite and collaboration systems (Microsoft Teams)
  • Excellent communication skills to interpret user requirements
  • Ability to analyse problems and determine solutions

Consistent with the nature of the sporting industry, the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work weekends, evenings and reasonable additional hours as is required to fulfil the requirements of this position. Remuneration is set in recognition of this requirement.
