AusCycling is the nation’s peak riding and cycling body, representing more than 5 million Australians who ride bikes. Formed in 2020 from 19 state, territory, and national bodies, AusCycling is responsible for programs, projects and initiatives that encompass BMX, Track, Mountain Bike, Road, Para and recreational.

We help school kids learn to ride, we stage more than 500 events each year, we nurture clubs and create pathways, and we are responsible for the training, welfare, and performance of Australia’s Olympic, Paralympic, Commonwealth Games and World Championship athletes.

Our Sport Pillar oversees events and racing; competition rules and the State / Territory delivery network.

Position Purpose      

The Project Manager - Club Capacity Victoria is responsible for developing, managing, and executing the Sport and Recreation Victoria funded Sustainable Volunteer Workforce (SVW) Program to enhance the capacity and sustainability of regional AusCycling affiliated clubs across Victoria.

This role will focus on strengthening volunteer workforces, fostering club development and increasing participation.  The position will need to ensure that programs are delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable outcomes that contribute to the development of the local cycling community.

Responsibilities        

The following responsibilities outline the core expectations of the role but are not an exhaustive list of all requirements.

  • Provide operational leadership of SVW program including planning, execution, evaluation and other associated AusCycling club capacity-building projects.
  • Ensure timely, efficient, and within-budget delivery of the SVW project.
  • Driving the achievement of program KPIs and performance targets.
  • Foster coordination across multiple stakeholders, ensuring alignment with SVW program objectives and timelines, and proactively identify risks, challenges, and opportunities, implementing effective mitigation strategies to guarantee the SVW project success and sustainability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Sport and Recreation Victoria, club committee members, local councils, and Regional Sporting Assemblies and Academies.
  • Lead the monitoring and reporting of the SVW projects progress, ensuring that data and outcomes are tracked against performance targets. Providing regular updates and reports to Sport and Recreation Victoria and AusCycling  leadership.
  • Foster collaboration among clubs and local communities, helping develop networks for knowledge-sharing, best practices, and community engagement, while ensuring the SVW project is inclusive and accessible to all clubs
  • Under the direction of the State Operations Manager, lead and manage the SVW program staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Other duties as determined from time to time.
