Melbourne Storm is an Australian professional rugby league club playing in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. We are the only NRL team based in Victoria and have experienced substantial growth and success in our short history.

About the role

The Digital Media Producer is responsible for compiling and creating content to be delivered across Melbourne Storm platforms, namely website, e-communications and social media channels, with the aim to deliver engaging storytelling and promotional support for the Club. This role will focus on assisting in the creation of both editorial and video content as well as the distribution and delivery of this content across the Club’s digital platforms.

As the Digital Media Producer, you will:

  • Generating and sourcing engaging content to deliver across the Club’s digital channels
  • Assist with production and uploading of content onto club website in accordance with the digital content plan
  • Manage general website administration including but not limited to updating graphics and tiles, adding pages, updating and maintenance of photo galleries
  • Writing or sourcing editorial to be published on the Club website
  • Work with the Social Media Specialist and other team members to support the execution of the digital and content plan, including publishing on the Club’s social media accounts and promoting website content
  • Assist with reporting, tagging and analytics from the Club’s social media accounts
  • Assist in daily administration of social media platforms including posting, live tweeting and responding to questions on social media channels
  • Capture training and game day content where required
  • Record, edit and upload press conferences and player media opportunities on the Club’s digital media platform in a timely manner.
  • Pre-production of video content including setting up equipment
  • Post-production of video requirements, including editing, repurposing, uploading video to the Video Management System provided by the NRL, and uploading across social media platforms when required

Due to the nature of our industry, this role will be required to work on game day and at nominated Club events, which will require some weekend and evening availability, and some occasional travel.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations.
  • 1-3 years’ experience working in digital, social media or communications.
  • Experience in the sporting industry will be highly regarded.
