The Organisation

The Olympic Winter Institute of Australia (OWIA) has a proud tradition of supporting athletes in their sporting pursuits.  The objective and focus of the OWIA is the fulfilment of podium-calibre performances at World Cup, World Championship events and ultimately at the Olympic Winter Games.  The OWIA identity represents a strong tie to the Olympic family in Australia.

Underpinning all OWIA operations are a strong set of core values that include Excellence; Health; Integrity; and Respect.  These values align with our fundamental principles and are embedded in the way we work, communicate, collaborate and make decisions.

The Winter Olympic quadrennial is well underway, building toward the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympic Games. We have an exciting opportunity for a Physical Preparation Coach who shares our passion for high performance and organisational excellence to join the team.

The Role

As OWIA’s Physical Preparation Coach, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering world-class physical preparation services to elite athletes, empowering them to perform at their best.

Based in Brisbane, you will be the primary physical preparation provider at this location, supported by a tight-knit and dedicated team in other locations. While primarily focused on supporting Aerial Skiing athletes, you will also collaborate with athletes from other winter sports, contributing to their performance journeys.

The primary focus of the role is on designing, implementing, and delivering cutting-edge physical preparation programs tailored to the unique demands of winter sports.

Working closely with coaches, athletes, and support services, you will play an integral role in supporting program KPIs, enhancing athletic performance, and optimising recovery to achieve peak outcomes. Your expertise will be critical in fostering a high-performance environment where athletes can thrive.
