The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager - A-Leagues Men, the Operations Executive is responsible for key contributions to the day to day competition operations of the A-Leagues.

This role is crucial in supporting team based deliverables, broader business engagement to achieve outcomes, and management of stakeholder relationships in an environment where competing interests interact.

Your team and key stakeholders will benefit from your tenacity, commitment and best in class standards in driving meaningful outcomes via the following key responsibilities.

This role is a parental leave cover contract.

The Responsibilities:

  • Support the process and administration requirements relating to the A-League Mens and Womens fixturing matters;
  • Support delivery of the A-League Season Draw project; including the administration requirements associated with broad project plan timelines, determine an efficient approach to a complex set of circumstances, and an ability to develop an innate understanding of macro and micro factors associated with this workstream.
  • Provide assistance and coordinate outcomes associated with competition regulatory, policy and procedural matters.
  • Manage on a day to day basis a broad of range administration duties with a focus on competitions and football operations associated deliverables.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Upkeep of documentation and reports on a regular basis.

About You:

Soft Skills -

  • Well-developed problem solving and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to ef?ciently assess situations and solve for inef?ciencies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to pre-empt issues before they arise.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to last minute changes in at times ambiguous situations.
  • A sound understanding of the football ecosystem.
  • Innovative thinker.
  • Ability to learn on the go and take on new projects outside your remit and comfort zone if required.
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive.

Technical Skills -

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management or a business related ?eld, or alternatively a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the sporting industry (preferably football).
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (speci?cally Microsoft Excel), and proficiency in Google Suite skills.
  • A passion for and knowledge of football is desirable
  • Previous experience working with competition management systems and/or sports related scheduling software systemes is preferred.
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, and results and data driven.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of sports business.
  • Excellent judgement and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for and knowledge of football is desirable.
