As the Program Leader for the Recreation Program, you will oversee the planning, delivery, and development of our recreational gymnastics’ programs. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on leadership, creativity, and making a positive impact on the lives of gymnasts of all ages. You will work closely with the Managing Director, Programs Manager and our coaching team to ensure that the recreational program aligns with Strive's values and standards.
What You’ll Do
Program Leadership
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of recreational gymnastics programs for athletes of all ages and abilities.
Ensure programs align with Strive's philosophy of holistic development, fun, and progression.
Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
Team Supervision & Mentorship
Supervise, mentor, and inspire a team of recreational coaches to deliver high-quality sessions.
Conduct regular training sessions, evaluations, and feedback to ensure professional growth within the coaching team.
Program Delivery
Coach and lead recreational classes, modelling best practices in coaching techniques and athlete engagement.
Foster positive relationships with athletes and parents to build trust and satisfaction.
Monitor athlete progress and provide encouragement and constructive feedback.
Administrative Duties
Coordinate class schedules, rosters, and equipment requirements for the recreation program.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, risk management policies, and child protection regulations.
Monitor program attendance and provide reports to the management team as required.
Community Engagement & Development
Organize and support recreational events, showcases, and open days to foster community spirit and promote the program.
Act as a liaison between coaches, parents, and management to ensure clear communication and a cohesive program experience.
Continuous Improvement
Stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in gymnastics coaching.
Collaborate with the management team to implement innovative ideas for program growth and athlete development.
About You
We’re looking for a dynamic leader with a passion for coaching and a commitment to excellence. You’ll bring:
Experience: Minimum 3 years of gymnastics coaching experience, preferably in recreational programs.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and inspire a coaching team.
Coaching Qualifications: Hold relevant gymnastics coaching accreditations
Gymnastics Australia Advanced Coach accreditation
Gymnastics Australia Supervisor certificate
Gymnastics Australia CCE certificate
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with athletes, parents, and team members effectively.
Organizational Ability: Ability to manage schedules, class rosters, and program logistics efficiently.
Commitment to Safety: Knowledge of safety regulations and child protection policies, with a Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
Positive Attitude: Enthusiasm for fostering a supportive and enjoyable environment for athletes and staff.
