Summary: 

Support the OAC Oceania Head Coach with all aspects of athlete needs including training, and all tasks pertaining to athlete support and team development.

Details: 

The On Athletics Club Oceania, created by On, resides in Melbourne, Australia, which aspires to develop and support the best middle and long distance running athletes on the planet. The assistant OAC Coach will be tasked with supporting the Head OAC Coach with daily training and competition needs for the athletes on the team, as well as the logistics of recruiting new athletes, booking travel and accommodations and generally supporting the needs of the team.

This position will be required to travel up to 20+ times per year to follow the professional track and field circuit and support training camps both locally and internationally. The role is based in Melbourne, Australia.

Role success: 

Maintaining and developing team culture – trust, comradery, loyalty and implementation of the team’s mission – is critical to success for this position. This person will be willing to learn from the Head Coach and support the brand and team’s goals to win global championships, set records, and inspire the next generation of track athletes.

What are “must haves” with the new position:

  • Ability to build and implement training plans, manage schedules and navigate the global athletics calendar.
  • Build positive and affirming relationships with professional athletes to build a healthy and safe training environment.
  • Listen, listen, and listen more. And then be able to emotionally connect with athletes with incredibly high aspirations and pressure to succeed.
  • Strong relationships with NCAA coaches, agents, race directors and important stakeholders to the sport.
  • Ability to give and receive clear and respectful feedback with athletes, the Head Coach and brand stakeholders.
  • A degree in exercise science and or strength and conditioning is highly desirable.

Salary and Benefits:
