We are excited to share and invite expressions of the position of Athlete Support Worker: Paralympic Program. This unique opportunity will support high-performance operations of the Australian Dolphins Swim Team by providing personal care support to identified athletes and facilitating the best environment for the team to win when it matters the most

Reporting to the Paralympic Performance Health and Support Lead, the main requirements for this placement will be:

• Deliver personal care, assistance, and support services (including mobility transfers) to Para athletes with various disabilities, including physical, cognitive, and visual impairments. This may include assisting with dressing, toileting, showering, meals, and meal preparation.
• Collaborate on developing, revising, or adapting individual care plans for relevant athletes.
• Assist the Team Manager in meeting the needs of athletes, coaches, officials, and support staff during tours.
• Provide and maintain an environment conducive to ideal athlete preparation.

This is a contractor service agreement position for defined National Team activities (eg. domestic camps, competitions, international tours) and will be engaged as a sole trader or through a company.

Applications are welcomed from candidates based anywhere in Australia and services will be required for approximately 40 days per year.

About you:

What you will bring to the role:

• Relevant industry qualification and registration (e.g., Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Accredited Carer/Support worker, etc.).
• Current and relevant professional indemnity insurance.
• Experience in working with elite and developing athletes and coaches.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence developing high performance individuals to achieve elite outcomes and deliver superior levels of service.
• Demonstrates a high level of competency in communication and teamwork.
