In alignment with Paralympics Australia’s (PA) IMAGINE Strategy and Australia’s High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy, the PA Pathways Team is expanding. New positions will support the implementation of new systematic approaches to reduce barriers to entry and progression within Para-sports. This will include enhancement of resources, systems and initiatives that identify, develop, advance and retain athletes on the Paralympic Performance Pathway.

About the Role

As the Senior Manager, Pathways, you will lead the PA Pathways Team to implement innovative strategies that reduce barriers to participation and progression in Para-sports. Working within the Performance Strategy division, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversee the operational delivery of the PA Pathways Team.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Drive initiatives to increase the number of Para-athletes entering and progressing in high-performance programs.
  • Foster collaboration across the sporting system to support athlete development and success.

This role will require occasional interstate travel and weekend work.

About You

You are an experienced leader with a track record of managing multi-faceted programs and diverse teams. You understand the power of sport to drive social change and are passionate about creating equitable opportunities for athletes. You will bring:

  • Proven experience in leading strategic and operational programs.
  • Strong people management skills to inspire and guide a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Ability to navigate complexity and drive meaningful outcomes in an evolving space.
  • An understanding of Para-sport pathways or the unique barriers to participation for athletes with disabilities (desirable).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Background in sport management, sport science, or coaching (preferred but not essential).
  • A combination of education, career and lived experience will also be considered
  • Working with Children’s Check.
  • Completion of key Sport Integrity Australia training courses (or willingness to complete).
