THE OPPORTUNITY

The Performance Analyst plays a key role in our AFLW Football Program, providing a tailored performance analysis service for the senior coaching team and players.

This is a part-time role with hours and times dependent on the AFLW pre-season and in season training calendar. The Sydney Swans training facility is based at Moore Park, with regular travel required throughout the AFLW season.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining robust analysis procedures for collecting and sharing crucial data related to key performance indicators (KPIs) and Game Plan requirements, encompassing both training sessions and matches.
  • Management and co-ordination of video for analysis (recording, coding, databasing) of all training and games. 
  • Engage in data analysis initiatives and deliver reports and data visualisations according to program needs, and in line with coach requirements
  • Conduct opposition analysis to facilitate tactical preparation
  • Utilise presentation tools to elevate feedback and enhance the learning experience
  • Provide matchday assistance, involving the configuration of coaches' box and interchange bench infrastructure, IT and the provision of real-time information to coaches and support staff
  • Co-ordination of the AFLW Analysis internship program

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a sport related or data related field
  • Experience working in a Performance Analysis role in sport
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Data analysis and visualisation experience preferred
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Due to the nature of the industry, the ideal candidate must be flexible in their availability as extended hours and weekend work will be required for this role.
