Join the PA Pathways Team!

In alignment with Paralympics Australia’s (PA) IMAGINE Strategy and Australia’s High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy, the PA Pathways Team is expanding. We are excited to announce new positions that will support the implementation of systematic approaches to reduce barriers to entry and progression within Para-sports. This includes enhancing resources, systems, and initiatives to identify, develop, advance, and retain athletes on the Paralympic Performance Pathway.

About the Role

Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Pathways, the Performance Pathways Lead you will:

  • Provide operational oversight of the Performance Pathways team.
  • Lead the implementation of key initiatives and stakeholder support in talent identification, athlete development, and talent transfer.
  • Mentor and develop PA Performance Pathway Specialists to foster a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Enhance system collaboration and alignment to achieve strategic goals by driving productive partnerships and purposeful engagement with relevant sport system partners and community stakeholders.

This role requires occasional interstate travel and weekend work.

About You

You are a passionate people leader who thrives on supporting a team to contribute to organisational goals while achieving individual professional growth. You understand the power of sport to drive social change and are passionate about creating equitable opportunities for athletes. You will bring:

  • Proven experience in leading operational programs.
  • Strong people management skills to inspire and guide a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Ability to navigate complexity and drive meaningful outcomes in an evolving space.
  • An understanding of Para-sport pathways or the unique barriers to participation for athletes with disabilities (desirable).
  • Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of the para-journey, which may include lived experience of athlete pathways and/or classification, or experience in the sports sector.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Background in sport management, sport science, or coaching (preferred but not essential).
  • A combination of education, career and lived experience will also be considered
  • Working with Children’s Check.
  • Completion of key Sport Integrity Australia training courses (or willingness to complete).
