The position
The Duty Manager provides support, supervision and first aid services to the out of hours’ school sport and co-curricular activities within our Barry Centre (Sports and Aquatic Centre) located on campus in Toorak. Reporting directly to the Barry Centre Manager you will work as part of the wider programs team. Rate of pay is $50 per hour.
The following shifts are available with potential to take on additional shifts as they arise.
- Tuesday 5:30am to 9am
- Friday: 2:30pm to 4:45pm
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure the safety of patrons at the Barry Centre through proactive supervision, serving the entire School Community.
- Identify potential risks associated with various activities and take appropriate steps to mitigate them.
- Oversee visitor traffic and manage behaviour within the Centre to maintain a safe and positive environment.
- Provide a welcoming and positive atmosphere for both the public and members of the School Community.
- Address information needs for staff and families as required. Administer First Aid and respond to incidents as necessary.
- Lead and coordinate emergency evacuations for the entire Centre when needed.
- Complete tasks outlined in the Duty Manager’s daily checklist.
- Act as a Lifeguard as required.
- Perform opening, closing, and plantroom checks as needed.
- Undertake other responsibilities as specified in the position description.
About you
To be successful in this position you will have experience in a similar role and hold relevant qualifications to perform the role to a high standard including:
- Current Level 2 or Level 3 First Aid
- Current Anaphylaxis qualification
- Current CPR qualification with Defibrillation component
- Current Pool Lifeguard qualification
- Pool Operators Certificate (desirable but not essential)
- A current Working with Children Check (employee) is essential requirements for this role.
