As a Contractor, the VFLW Doctor will provide services to integrate their medical expertise with other health care providers, including medical specialists, fitness staff and allied health professionals internal and external to the Western Bulldogs Football Club. The contractor will also be required to provide the following services:  

• Principally determine when a player is ready to begin a fitness program, join a team or return to play following an injury or illness.  
• Provide for proper document and medical record keeping, including keeping the Club’s injury management system up to date as required by the Club and AFL. 
• Facilitate professional services such as surgery, imaging or other investigations and other medical items considered appropriate for a given case. 
• Address equipment and supply issues as pertaining to the medical department. Also, the creation and maintenance of an inventory for same. 
• Monitor the rehabilitation programs as devised by the fitness staff and other allied health professionals at the Club. 
• Following each match, conduct a triage-style medical on all players. 

The Contractor will be required to attend one of the two training sessions per week and be in attendance at all Club matches. This includes arriving 90-120 minutes prior to the match starting, subject to any requirements to be earlier if prior arrangement. While also be available to attend recovery sessions for up to one hour after each game. Generally, these are conducted the following day. It may be acceptable to share this load with a fellow Club medical officer subject to availability.  

We are seeking an individual who is a Legally Qualified Medical Practitioner and has completed a Bachelor or Medical Studies / Doctor of Medicine at an accredited University with experience working within sport, ideally with female athletes. The Contractor will also be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
