About the role

The Talent and Coach Manager will oversee talent and coach development programs in the Northern Territory, aiming to expand both the quantity and quality of athletes and coaches in the region. This role serves as the primary point of contact for communication, education, administration, support, and program delivery for across both Talent and Coach streams. Success in this role, will rely on strong relationship-building skills and a genuine passion for working in a close-knit regional community.

This role will be accountable for administration and budget management relevant to their role, which includes end to end management of travel. This role will from time to time deliver and perform duties outside of NT and across the other states and territories.

Reporting to the CEO of Tennis NT & Director of Coaching (Tennis Australia), in this role you will:

  • Develop and manage relevant budgets relevant to the delivery of the strategy and business plan
  • Plan a calendar of formal and informal training opportunities to engage and re-engage tennis coaches with coaching, helping to fill coach vacancies in the NT.
  • Ensure that training plans align with the overall Talent plan in the NT and the philosophy of the National Development Squads
  • Engage with the Northern Territory Sport Academy (NTSA) to advocate for tennis and communicate opportunities to local players and coaches.
  • Deliver in Schools focusing on the identification of Talent in line with Tennis NT's overall Talent plan.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of TA Talent programs such as Super 10s, Talent Camps, Club Talent ID Initiatives, and other programs

About you

What you will bring to the role:

  • Tennis Australia recognised coach qualification - Club Professional preferred, or equivalent Performance coaching qualification.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement a high-performance program for the development of talented, young athletes.
  • Proven knowledge of all aspects of development (technical, tactical, physical and psychological) and on-court decision making strategies.
  • Strong administration skills including tech/computer literacy, record keeping and report writing.
  • Knowledge of tennis landscape within Australia (i.e. coaching industry, tournaments and competitions).
  • Ability to work with others and influence key stakeholders, including developing strong working/professional relationships with athletes, coaches and parents.
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check (Ochre Card).
